How do you dispose of coffee pods?

Aluminium. You won’t find a speck of plastic in sight. That means they are fully recyclable and can go in your usual household recycling (yes, even the top lid). You may wish to brush out any residue coffee grounds beforehand.
Can coffee pods go in recycling bin?
Coffee pods are not able to be recycled through the yellow lidded recycling bin. This is because they are too small for the recycling facility.
What can I do with old coffee pods?
There are four easy ways to recycle the capsules:
- Return your used capsules to your nearest Nespresso boutique.
- Use a bulk recycling box to collect capsules on behalf of your workplace or community.
- Drop off your used capsules at your nearest participating florist or garden drop-off centre.
Can I put Aluminium coffee pods in recycling?
Aluminium is an abundant resource but is energy-intensive to smelt and mould. 88% of a capsule is recyclable aluminium, but the lacquer, plastic, and silicone ring are not recycled.
How do you recycle coffee pods at home?
If you’re not sure whether your K-Cup pods are recyclable, check the bottom for a recycling symbol with the number 5. To recycle these pods, peel off the aluminum foil top. Toss the grounds, aluminum top, and paper filter, and recycle the plastic pod shell.
How do you compost compostable coffee pods?
Put compostable coffee pods into your black cart as garbage. Coffee grounds inside the pod can be put in your green cart for composting.
Can you recycle L or coffee pods with Nespresso?
Recycle your used L’OR capsules with us. If you live in the Republic of Ireland, you can recycle your used L’OR Capsules. When we receive your L’OR Espresso capsules, the aluminium is finely ground and washed, then melted and recycled to make new products. The coffee grounds are also recycled.
Are L or Nespresso pods recyclable?
All aluminium and plastic pods from participating brands are accepted and can be recycled via the Podback programme.
