Now Open to Aspiring Residents and Investors

Cauldron Community Eco Village in West Ireland

Now open to aspiring residents and investors

Simon Dale's Hobbit House

Simon Dale’s Hobbit House

Do you recognise the importance of sustainable living in harmony with the natural world? Have you always dreamed of an alternative and self-sufficient lifestyle? Does living in a bespoke ‘hobbit-house’ of cob and straw-bales speak to your soul? Then please read on…

The Cauldron Community is an exciting new ‘not for profit’ social enterprise, currently at the envisioning stage, but with 17 aspiring residents, including four children. The plan is for a series of independent but interlinked small-holdings with a central community hub for hosting a wide range of events and activities. There will also be an outdoor Eco Classroom as eco education is very much at the heart of the vision and ethos of this project. A celebration of traditional Gaelic culture is also central to our intentions.

We aspire to maximum self sufficiency through growing our own food, keeping our own live-stock, developing practical skills such as clothes-making; with each person developing their own trade, business and craft skills. We will also be utilising cutting edge modern technology through the use of solar panels, wind-mills and a good broadband connection!

There will be strong links forged with the local, national and international community through guided tours of the site and regular events from permaculture courses to an Irish harp festival. The Cauldron Community will also feature a cafe and shop to sell organic produce, arts and crafts made by the local community. We will also have a music recording studio, a music garden, an outdoor swimming pool, a nature pond, an outdoor hot tub, a sweat lodge, guest facilities for camping and glamping and much more.

Does this project strike a chord with you? We are currently offering an open invitation to suitable residents and investors to help us realise this dream of sustainable community living. We also currently have a growing team of consultants and advisors and always welcome any help and collaboration that supporters can offer.

Interested in finding out more? Then please get in touch through cauldron

Together, we will make this happen, in a way that will be inspirational, educational and deeply rewarding for all involved. You are welcome to be part of our Community, to be part of the solution.

The target area is around Westport but are keeping an open mind and will really depend on what suitable sites are available when we are in a position to buy 🙂
