06 May Seasons Greetings with Update and Video from Lammas Community
Wishing all you Cauldron Community people a beautiful Beltaine! May the Summer bring you all joy and pleasure.
Things are ticking along, slowly but surely, with business plan. We have also had another lovely couple signed up as aspiring residents who have pledged €50,000 towards the project. This brings our total pledges from aspiring residents to approx €270,000 which is great! However that is nearly all tied up in property, most of which will be put up for sale this summer. So it’s still an unknown when we will have the investment money in the bank as such.
As such we are still very much open for investment! 🙂 We intend in also applying for an EU Rural Development Leader Grant for €200,000 in the Autumn.
The Cauldron Community currently has 17 aspiring residents (including three children) with an incredible range of skill sets from experienced Organic Farmers, Teachers to Web Designers. We remain open to further resident applications for anyone who is interested and not applied yet.
Here is a little video to inspire you all from one of my heroes Tao Wimbush who is cofounder of the very successful Lammas Eco Village in Wales. These guys have been so helpful to us to date with advice and even sent us a copy of their business plan which has been very useful. A few of us from the CC will be going to visit the Lammas community over the Summer as part of our design and planning process.
